Crispy homemade wonton chips are fried until golden brown and perfectly seasoned for a quick and easy treat. Serve them as an appetizer or enjoy them as a snack with your favorite dipping sauce.
Heat the vegetable oil up in a deep skillet over medium heat, for about 2-3 minutes or until it reaches 325°F.
Cut the wonton wrappers in half, diagonally down the middle. Separate all of the wrappers and place them in an overlapped pattern on a clean dry surface (to make the frying process easier and quicker).
Carefully place the wonton wrapper halves into the hot oil one at a time, do not overlap or crowd the pan.
Fry the wonton chips on each side for about 20 seconds, using tongs to flip them. Or fry them until they are golden brown. The chips fry super fast.
Use your tongs to remove them from the hot oil and place them on a cooling rack or a bed of paper towels to drain the excess grease.
Sprinkle them with salt or your favorite seasoning. ENJOY!
Alternative cooking method:
Spray the wonton chips with nonstick cooking spray and place in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
