Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
  • 10 Wonton wrappers
  • Sprinkle of salt

Optional seasonings

  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Sesame seeds
  • Paprika
  • Everything but the bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Heat the vegetable oil up in a deep skillet over medium heat, for about 2-3 minutes or until it reaches 325°F.
  • Cut the wonton wrappers in half, diagonally down the middle. Separate all of the wrappers and place them in an overlapped pattern on a clean dry surface (to make the frying process easier and quicker).
  • Carefully place the wonton wrapper halves into the hot oil one at a time, do not overlap or crowd the pan.
  • Fry the wonton chips on each side for about 20 seconds, using tongs to flip them. Or fry them until they are golden brown. The chips fry super fast.
  • Use your tongs to remove them from the hot oil and place them on a cooling rack or a bed of paper towels to drain the excess grease.
  • Sprinkle them with salt or your favorite seasoning. ENJOY!

Alternative cooking method:

  • Spray the wonton chips with nonstick cooking spray and place in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  • *Air fry instructions the same.
